This help section contains general information about the Biblepedia, guidelines when editing or creating articles, and other technical stuff.

It will be up to the creators of B.I.B.L.E. to write the majority of this wiki, but you are welcome to help - Just kindly keep the guidelines stated below in mind.

If you have questions regarding the wiki please send them to one of the admins.

If you need help with something that isn't listed here, you can always refer to MediaWiki's extensive help section.

What does the Biblepedia contain?

The Biblepedia holds information about the universe the B.I.B.L.E. comics take place in. This includes articles about the worlds, creatures and characters featured in B.I.B.L.E. as well as explanations about how the universe works, special terms, and so on.

If you haven't read through the archives of the B.I.B.L.E. comic, you probably shouldn't browse this wiki as it'll be full of spoilers.

Guidelines for editing the wiki

Anyone is welcome to edit this wiki, but we'll encourage you to make a user account if you feel like contributing. That way other users can contact you and it'll be registered which pages you've helped edit.

You can create an account or log in here: Special:UserLogin

You are free to help us flesh out the wiki with all the information you can gather from the B.I.B.L.E. comics themselves, our Tumblr blog (http://biblecomic.tumblr.com) or anywhere else we put content related to B.I.B.L.E.

Pages

Creating a page

The basic pages on the wiki are used to create articles. You can create a page that doesn't already exist by clicking a broken link (coloured blue) or by searching for it - If a page with the name you searched for doesn't already exist, you'll be given the option to create it.

Naming pages

If the page you want to create is titled with a noun, you should always use the singular form of the word.

Editing a page

You can edit already existing pages by clicking the 'Edit' tab in the upper right corner of the page.

When you've made your edit, you can write a summary of your revisions so other users easily can tell what you've changed.

If the revisions is very small, such as if it only consists of correcting typos or formatting errors, you can mark the revision as a 'Minor edit'.

Discussion pages

Every page has a discussion page tied to it. You can find it under the tab 'Discussion' in the top right corner of any given page.

Discussion pages can be used for suggesting changes to a page, or to discuss the topic of the given article.

Signatures

When writing something on a discussion page, it can be a good idea to end it with your user signature.

Signature markup:
~~~~
Output: Gitte (talk) 08:08, 11 May 2013 (CDT)
User pages
Every registered user has their own user page that they can use as the like. You can leave messages for other users on their 'Talk page', which is the equivalent of a discussion page for users.
Special pages
The wiki features a bunch of special pages that can be useful in editing and managing articles, categories and so on. You can find them all here: Special:SpecialPages
Here are some examples of special pages that can come in handy:
Categories
Categories form the structure and hierachy of pages on the wiki.
If you want to add a page to any categories, please do not create new categories - Use the ones that already exist. You can find a list of all existing categories on the page Special:Categories.
Editing and text formatting
Refer to the page Help:Editing for a guide about how to edit and format text on the wiki.
Templates
Refer to the page Help:Templates for a guide about how to use templates, such as the caracter bio tables on character pages.
